The Maillard lab welcomes Allison Aroni-Soto as visiting scientist from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. We also welcome to the lab Katie Bracken as undergraduate researcher. She is a major in Biochemistry in our department.

Congratulations to Sahar Foroutannejad for winning the “best poster” award at the 12th Annual Frontiers in Chemistry and Biology Interface Symposium held at the NIH. Well deserved for her beautiful work on coupling mechanisms between FAD binding and protein folding in the Drosophila cryptochrome.

The laboratory hosted the 4th Chesapeake Bay Area Single Molecule Biology meeting. The meeting was a success with more than 140 attendees. Thanks to all the members of the Maillard lab and the Chemistry student organization at Georgetown for their support.

The Maillard lab welcomes PhD students Stephen Dokas and Amy Chau. We also welcome Lydia Good, major in Biochemistry at Georgetown. We wish them success!

At the same time we say goodbye to two outstanding undergraduate students, Clara Canavan and Virginia Glick. Clare is going to Harvard University to obtain her PhD, and Virginia is a researcher at the National Zoo in DC. We wish them good luck for their future careers!
